Each week as I travel to teach, I pray that
the Lord would open up opportunities to share with those
that are searching. It did not take long for the Lord to point out His purposes
for me there. A co-worker
named Jack quickly became a friend of mine, and every time I stopped in we would
talk about life.
Jack would share about his life and ask me about mine. It surprised me when he
opened up and began
describing that he was not very happy with where his life was at. He would ask
me, 'Why are you so happy and peaceful each time I see you? Is life that easy
for you?' I responded, 'No, life is not that easy for me. It is probably no easier
for me than it is for you, but there is something in my life that does make a
big difference!' As time has gone on I have been able to share more and more
with him about what it means to be friends with the creator of the universe.
It is something that I know Jack continues to think about, and I pray that those
seeds will find fertile soil and take root.
Life is very different here, and ministry looks very different as well, but there
is one thing that
remains the same and that is the need and desire that all people have for God.
