BRINGING HOPE TO DISPLACED CHILDREN ::

Shortly after the May 12th earthquake, the Chinese government moved "displaced children" to various cities around the country. These children have been separated from their parents since the earthquake. For many of them, it might take a year before they see their parents again.

Asia SPAN has the opportunity to conduct VBS style kids camps for these children in late August. In order to do so, we have mobilized 5 paid national staff and over 45 volunteers from local fellowships who will serve by providing arts, crafts, games, stories, and snacks for the 500+ children throughout the camp. The camp, "Camp Hope", will share a message of hope and comfort for the children while creating an environment of joy and happiness.

Asia SPAN has also taken Camp Hope "on the road" to several migrant communities throughout the city. As part of the Chinese Migrant Initiative, Asia SPAN has been able to reach over 300 migrant children with the message of hope and love that comes from the Father.
